Pastor Alan Waddell
Pastor Alan Waddell was born in Orlando, Florida on May 17, 1975. He was raised, however, from the age of two until adulthood in Westland, Michigan.
On a Sunday morning in 1985, as a ten year old boy, he trusted Christ as his personal Saviour. His heart and passion for God are evident in his desire to introduce others to Christ and see them grow in their relationship with Him.
Sensing God's call to ministry, Pastor Waddell enrolled at Midwestern Baptist College in Pontiac, MI and graduated with a Bachelor degree in Pastoral Theology in 1999. While attending college, he worked under Dr. Tom Malone, Sr. as the Youth Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church. It was also during his college years that he met his wife to be, Amy Childers, daughter of Kenya Missionaries, Terry & Barbara Childers.
After college, Pastor Waddell gained experienced in ministry working as a youth pastor in Michigan for three years. Since then he had gained 15 years of experience as senior pastor of various churches in the eastern states.
Pastor Alan Waddell was called to Smyrna Baptist in July of 2016. Pastor Waddell’s heartbeat is that of a pastor. He loves his church. Under Pastor Waddell's leadership, the church weekly engages in strategic outreach to the greater Tampa and Hillsborough County community.
Pastor Alan Waddell married the former Amy Childers, in July of 2000. The Waddells are delighted to be the parents of Caleb (born in 2005), Mackenzie (born in 2007) and Reagan (born in 2011).
